PREPARATION PROCESS FOR THE SYNOD OF BISHOPS OF OCTOBER 2023

SYNTHESIS OF THE REFLECTION OF THE LAY CLARETIAN MOVEMENT

As a Movement, we have wanted to participate decisively in the synodal journey, to which the entire People of God has been called, in accordance with our commitment to the Church and the service we want to provide to its evangelizing mission.

After participating through the different groups and communities in the local reflection carried out in the parishes and dioceses where we are present, the Lay Claretian Movement organized a working team to share the proposed reflection in this synodal process at a general level, seeking to identify signs of the Spirit in our journey as an ecclesial movement.

This working team -representative of the social, cultural, and generational diversity of the Movement- was composed of a total of 18 people: on one hand, the delegates proposed by the different regions and geographical areas where the Movement is present, to provide a perspective from different territorial and cultural contexts; and on the other hand, members of previous General Councils, to provide a historical and global perspective. They all worked from a common starting premise: the renewal of the Church begins with our own personal conversion.

This document synthesizes the conclusions of this reflection, which are structured around three central ideas:

  • The revaluation of charisms in the Church,
  • The construction of communion, and
  • he urgent call of the Spirit to evangelization.
