Claretian Lay Movement General Assembly in Central America 2026: Sent to Proclaim the Word

  Central America Region

From January 16 to 18, 2026, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the Lay Claretians of Central America experienced a profound sense of communion, faith, and mission during the General Assembly. This gathering renewed our commitment to the Gospel and the Claretian charism. It was an assembly marked by fraternity, listening, discernment, and the joy of knowing ourselves called by God to serve through our lay vocation.

Inspired by the theme of being sent forth, the participants reflected on our identity as missionary disciples, understanding that being a Lay Claretian is not just about belonging to a movement, but about embracing a mission: to be a living presence of God’s love in the world. The words of the prophet, “Here I am, send me” (Isaiah 6:8), resonated powerfully as a personal and communal response to the Lord’s call.

The Assembly was also a space brimming with youthful spirit, where the joy, creativity, and enthusiasm of the young people blended harmoniously with the experience and wisdom of the older members, strengthening the life of the movement and renewing hope. This intergenerational richness expressed the vitality of the Claretian charism, which remains alive and active in every community.
We return to our realities with hearts ablaze, aware that we have been sent not only to speak of God, but to reflect Him through our lives, our actions, and our witness. As a Claretian family, we continue walking together, with faith, joy, and a missionary spirit, in service to the Word and the Kingdom.
