Kinshasa, January 6, 2026 (DIA-CENCO) – Sunday, January 4, 2026, marked a significant milestone for the Claretian Lay Movement in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thirty-three new members were officially admitted to the Movement during Eucharistic celebrations held in Kinshasa and Pay-Kongila.

In Kinshasa, 23 Claretian lay members were officially incorporated during the Epiphany Mass, presided over by Reverend Father Jean Anakou, CMF, the Movement’s national chaplain. This celebration took place in the presence of members of the National Coordination, including National Coordinator Jean Pierre Tukwezo, National Secretary Solange Mujingila, Provincial Coordinator Jean Mbo and his entire team, as well as numerous Claretian lay members from the province of Kinshasa.

The ceremony took place in the Claretian Sisters Community, in an atmosphere of prayer, joy and fraternal communion.

That same day, in Pay-Kongila, the Movement also welcomed 10 new members. Their official induction took place during a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Raphaël Pesandi, CMF, which brought together the faithful and local members of the Movement.

These new admissions testify to the dynamism and continuous growth of the Claretian Lay Movement in the DRC, as well as the commitment of the laity to live and promote the Claretian charism in service to the Church and society.
